1.You’re probably already aware of the fact that you’ll have to go to medical school once you finish your four year degree at college. For an undergraduate degree, something in the field of biology or chemistry is always a good bet. But, that’s not to say that you can’t get into medical school with some other type of educational background. 2.After your four or fie years a regular university, probably less if you went to online colleges, it’s time to head off to medical school. There are many prestigious medical schools in the country. In some cases, large state run universities often have medical school programs in addition to their standard college curriculum. So, if you can find a school that is appealing as both a medical school and standard school, you can increase your chances of acceptance to medical school if you obtained your undergraduate degree from the same university. This is of course not always feasible and if you have your heart set on a medical school, apply. There’s nothing to lose.

3.Once out of medical school, it’s time to start your residency. This is where all of medical school diverges. As an anesthesiologist, you’ll head off to an anesthesiology residency program. This can take up to an additional three years on top of what you’ve already completed.

4.Lastly is your board certification. Without a board certification, you are not legally allowed to practice medicine in your state or country. Like all other medical exams, this one will be a lengthy oral and written process in which all of your medical knowledge will be tested.

You’ve been watching the games on TV for years and now you want to finally make the final step towards becoming a professional baseball umpire. There are very few jobs on the planet that have the same obscurity level as being a professional baseball umpire, and because of that, no one ever really knows where to begin their training and the application process for the whole thing. 1. There are two training facilities in the United States for becoming an umpire. Both of them are located in Florida. The training programs are open to the public and they each last five weeks. It doesn’t matter which course you enroll in as they are identical in the material they teach. Obviously, most people aren’t residents of Florida, so the few hundred miles that the programs are apart shouldn’t make much difference if you have to travel to get to them. These five week programs are held during the baseball off season. More information can be found on the official MLB website.

2. Obviously, enrolling and participating in the course are the easy part of the whole process. While in your training program, you’ll be continuously watched by scouts and other officials to see how you’re doing. If you display a strong sense of character and morality, as well as very astute observational skills, you’ll be considered for moving onto the next stage. Remember to keep yourself composed during the training program and do as well as you can. Because there are only a few hundred umpires in the entire country at any given time, getting noticed and moving on is easier said than done.

3. Assuming you get noticed for being one of the best of your class you will be moved on to being an umpire in the minor leagues. There are many divisions in minor league baseball, all of which are outlined on the MLB website. Assuming you make it into being an umpire for the minor league (there are only 225), you’ve made it much farther than most and you should give yourself a pat on the back.

4. The final part of the process that most people want to attain is of course to make it into the major leagues to start being an umpire for the pros. Here is where it gets tricky. Because being an umpire isn’t exactly a dangerous job and they don’t get fired too often by the MLB officials, the turnover rate for professional umpires is between very low and non-existent. To make it into the pro game, it’s almost all lucky. If a position needs to be filled in a major league baseball game and you’ve met the right people along the way, you’ll get a phone call requesting you to be an official. There is no formal process to go through to go from the minor league to the professional level. It’s pure chance.

3. With a degree in computer science, you have two options. If you want to fix other people’s computers for a living, you can easily start your own computer repair firm and research competitive prices in your area to see how much you should charge. Remember to have clients sign a waiver that doesn’t put you at risk for a lawsuit should things go awry. Your second option is to work for a business or firm that has a large IT department. Companies need computers to run but because many companies don’t work in the computer business, hiring someone else to manage their network and systems is their best bet. Working for these types of companies can earn you a very nice income if you’re proficient in the job.

The sky is really the limit when it comes to IT. There are no formal licenses that you need to obtain if you’re wanting to start your own private IT company either. That means that if you’re good enough with computers, you can start right away. Everyone would benefit from a computer science degree but it isn’t absolutely necessary. 3. Next up on the list is going to law school itself. No one can walk you through law school but if you keep your head down and stay focused, there’s no reason why you can’t succeed. All of this is of course to prepare you for the dreaded bar exam.

4. Upon completion of law school, it’s time to take the bar exam. The bar exam is a law exam administered by the state you live in to ensure that you’re ready to practice law. It is illegal to practice law in the state you live in without passing the bar exam first. There are plenty of training programs out there that can help you prepare for the exam and achieve the highest grade possible. Be aware that many states have little idiosyncrasies about them when it comes to practicing law and the bar exam. And by learning, we don’t just mean knowing enough of it to pass the few exams they give to you in college. We suggest taking as many foreign language courses in the language you decide to master as possible. Once you’ve completed your formal education, traveling to a country that speaks your foreign language and spending time there, interacting with the local environment, will be not only good for your linguistic skills, but also for your resume.

2.Next in the list of things you should accomplish is a degree in foreign relations. These degrees usually involve a lot of history and political science courses that require you to be very knowledgeable about world politics and the local politics in the area you’re interested in being an ambassador for. With at least a graduate degree under your belt for international relations, you can apply for an internship with your Ambassador’s council. In the United States it is called the Council on American Ambassadors. Your apprenticeship there will get you into the system to work your way up.

3.You’ll more than likely be assigned to a small time job involving foreign relations at an embassy somewhere. You’ll gradually work your way up the ladder through various foreign service positions. You’ll probably spend time overseas working for embassies or aiding other ambassadors on their journeys. Once you’ve proven your worthiness for the job, you’ll finally be appointed an ambassador.

If fiction is your niche, research what type of fictitious books, be they romance or comedy, gain the most attention on the book shelves. You’ll have to search for a while before you find a happy balance between what’s popular and what you enjoy writing.

2.The next part of the process of writing something worthwhile is to formulate a plan. Just like any great book before yours, there was a plan in place before the book was ever written. Formulating a plan and writing down all of the ideas and plot twists you’re going to want to include makes sure you keep on track with your ideas and don’t stray too far off the course to bore readers.

It may take a few months for others to feel comfortable enough with your presence to let you plan a full event, but it’s bound to happen.

3.Next, of course, is the application to a corporation to work full time as their event coordinator. If the community fund raising and cookie sales weren’t enough for you, you can try applying to businesses that always hold large scale functions. Companies like record labels and film production agencies are always holding get-to-gathers to introduce clients to one another and to show off their newest works. The entertainment industry, in any and all capacities, is a good place to work because you’re guaranteed to be busy with planning events, due to the nature of the business, and you’ll be surrounded by new people all the time, thus opening more doors for you.

Keep in mind that you probably won’t be hired on as an event coordinator right away. More than likely you will be hired as what would be more or less an intern. But, if you show your skills on the lower tiers of the job, you’ll quickly find yourself planning the events yourself.

Becoming an FBI Agent is probably one of the hardest things you’ll ever try and do in your life. Unlike the regular police force, FBI agents are expected to have much higher endurance and be more mentally sound than a regular officer. It may seem like an odd requirement, but they can only have the best of the best on their squad and vision requirements are part of the whole package.

2.Assuming you meet all of the preliminary stuff, it’s time to step up the requirements. You must have at least a bachelor’s degree, preferably a master’s degree, in some type of specialty field. Once you’ve gotten out of school with a degree, you can give your local agency a call to see what they recommend you do next. Normally, they will help you gather all of the required information to fill out an application form. Once you’ve submitted your application, the fun begins.

3.As with all government jobs, be prepared to be subjected to multiple background checks, drug tests, and anything else that may disqualify you from being a suitable candidate. Lie detector tests are common and by submitting an application, you’re agreeing to be subjected to all tests they may throw at you. Finally, if you make it past all of the tests they give you with flying colors, you’ll be sent off to Virginia to complete the FBI training school.

It’s a long road to becoming an FBI agent and if you can make it past all of the rigorous tests they throw your way, you’re still only half way there. Becoming an agent requires you to complete their training program, which is one of the most intense in the nation. And finally, once ALL of that is complete, you’ll more than likely be stuck with a boring desk job with the FBI until you’ve put in your time with them. After a few years of work behind a desk, you’ll more than likely get to fulfill the duties of an actual agent.

Once you’ve made it through all of that, the prescreenings and exams, you’re ready to apply for a job. The final part of applying for the job is the same as every other job in history. This means that houses in lower income neighborhoods are usually your best bet in terms of the likelihood that you’ll be able to find a tenant in a short space of time. You may be able to find a list of local houses in lower income neighborhoods that are currently for sale from your real estate agent. This list will give you a good idea of where to start with calculating figures.

Once you have a general idea of how much things will cost each month for a rental property, you have to next figure out whether or not it will be worth your while to purchase a rental property. What I mean by “worth your while” is that if you are not able to rent the property for enough money to pay for the expenses on the house each month, there’s no point. You don’t want to be paying for the house while someone else lives there. So, if you are able to find a house in a good area that will bring in at least what you owe each month, you’ve found a winner.

Lastly, you have to now find a tenant. 2. Once you’ve been admitted into a nationally accredited optometry school, you will have to complete their four year course load. After the four years is complete, it all comes down to a moment of truth in which you have to take a written and clinical exam. Like other medical degrees, and similar to the bar exam for becoming a lawyer, the final exams for optometry are very difficult. Expect to sacrifice your social life for a couple of weeks or months while you study to pass.

3. If all goes according to plan and you study your heart out, you’ll pass the four year program with a degree in optometry. To “put the icing on the cake,” your final step is to apply to your state’s board of optometry for a license. Receiving a license will allow you to practice as an optometrist in other optometry firms in your state. If you are looking to specialize in one area of the eye or start your own practice, you may want to consider spending some time working for someone else before venturing out on your own.

Unfortunately it isn’t all fun and games once you complete your licensing process. In order to keep your license valid, you have to renew it every few years. The renewal time varies from state to state. In addition to applying for a renewal, you also have to keep your education current, which means that you will have to continually take courses and keep up with modern techniques. Unlike other professions where you have to go to school, getting recognized and certified as a yoga instructor takes hundreds of hours of practice and supervision.

1. The nationally accredited organization: The Yoga Alliance, is who you have to answer to in order to become “official.” Your goals and aspirations may differ but the process is generally the same. Depending on where you want to teach, you will have different requirements. Many yoga schools require at least 200 hours of training under a professional. In more prestigious programs and schools, at least 500 hours of training is required before you can teach.

2. The Yoga Alliance website outlines everything you need to learn about where to get accreditation, but a good place to find out where you can go to learn the tricks of the trade is your own yoga instructor. Typically, the yoga school you attend will offer official training programs if you inquire. If you take them up on their training program they will more than likely ask you to work under them for the duration of the coursework. This is probably the best route to take when pursuing your degree. Instead of finding a separate school to learn in, you can train right where you feel comfortable.

3. “Completion” of the program differs from school to school so see which school fits your schedule and lifestyle before you sign on for the training. The minimum training hours are fairly standard across the board, so that part of the training won’t change. But as far as the moves and techniques you will need to master are concerned, it’s best to talk to your prospective schools beforehand.

4. Once certified you will be eligible to teach your own yoga classes. These include classes by yourself, and in most cases, under the supervision of a senior instructor. Once you’ve taught for long enough, you may be able to open your own yoga studio, but until then, like all other art forms of the mind and body, practice makes perfect and you will perpetually learn.

1. The first thing you’re going to need, in most cases, is a bachelor’s degree. Most of the time it doesn’t really matter what your degree is in because if you went to a state-run university, you were required to obtain a certain amount of general education credits. Assuming you fulfilled those requirements and received a degree, many states view you as qualified enough to teach a high-school class. If though, you have a degree in a specialized field that the high-school offers classes for, you stand a better chance at snagging a teaching job. For instance, if you get a degree in mathematics, becoming a math teacher is much easier.

2. Each state has different requirements (when are they ever the same?) for obtaining teaching certification. In general, the steps to becoming certified to teach in your state are as follows. First, you must completed a teaching preparation program, many of which can be completed online. Next, you have to pass a series of exams administered by the state to make sure you are competent in many general knowledge areas. And finally, you are required to complete a form along with proof of completion of the previous two steps to the state’s Board of Education. As was stated earlier, these steps vary from state to state and all of the information regarding your state’s requirements can be found on their respective Board of Education websites.

3. The next part of the whole process could go one way or the other. You may immediately get approved to teach in your state but if you do not have any prior teaching experience you may be asked to teach a class in a public school while being observed by an accredited grader. Don’t fret this examination. It’s simply there to see how you interact with students and to see if you are competent enough with the material to meet the state’s education requirements.

4. Once you have your teaching certification, it’s time to find a job. If you’re looking to work in a public school and reap the benefits of public job, you can contact the school board and find out what positions are open. Or, you can contact a private school where in some cases you don’t even need a teaching certification to teach. The choice is yours. Now, go out there and mold some minds!

As a child, I’m sure many of us remember our dreams of wanting to be an airplane pilot. Even after we grow up and realize that it may not be for us, there’s still a little hope inside that maybe one day we can drop everything and learn how to fly planes. What’s surprising to most people though, once they find out that pilots are in short supply, is that there are many different types of pilots. Now, I don’t mean that there are special types of craft that you can learn how to fly, there are really only two options: plane and helicopter. I meant that depending on what you’re interested in, you can get a career as a commercial pilot, meaning someone that flies for the big airlines like Delta or American, or you can be a private pilot or flight instructor. The possibilities are endless and surprisingly, a lot of the “big bucks” are made by not working for an airline.

1. Private Pilot’s License: The first step in the whole process of going from an average Joe to a full fledged aviator is to obtain your private pilot’s license. A private license is one that will enable you to fly single engine aircraft at both day and night with non-paying passengers. Single engine aircraft include the ones you’re used to seeing like small Cessna’s and Piper’s.

• There are two components to the private pilot’s license. Your first requirement is to accrue at least 40 hours of flight time. At least 20 of these hours have to be with a flight instructor in the co-pilot chair next to you. The remaining 20 hours can be divided between instructed flight and solo flights. You must be at least 17 years old to obtain a pilot’s license in the United States.

• The second part of the license is to pass the FAA’s written exam. A passing grade on this exam is considered at least a 70%. It’s often joked in the flying community that you only need to know how to fly at least 70% of the aircraft.

• The final step after you accrue your hours and pass the exam is to complete a check-ride. Check-rides are administered by FAA officials to see if you’re capable of successfully flying and landing an aircraft. This is often considered the hardest part of the entire process.

2. Instrument Rating and Commercial License: You may have noticed that I put “non-paying passengers” in regards to the private pilot’s license. You can get your license revoked if you ever try to charge for plane rides if you are not commercially certified. To become commercially certified you must obtain an instrument rating for your aircraft which involves another written test and check ride to prove that you are capable of flying your aircraft solely based on your instruments and without visibility, as well as a commercial license. A commercial license also involves a check-ride and at least a few hundred hours in the air with your private license.

Once you have all of those things in place you can apply to work for a major airline or as a flight instructor. Or, if you’re so inclined, you can start work for a private company to fly their staff around.

Ahh, the open road. It’s a wonderful place that very few of us get to ever actually explore. If though, you become a trucker driver, you’ll be seeing a lot of things that you once thought unimaginable. Truck driver may not be the most glamorous job of the bunch, but it pays pretty damn well all things considered. Today we’re going to cover the relatively easy steps of how to become a truck driver.

1. The first thing you’re going to want to do is graduate from high school with at least a GED. It isn’t absolutely quintessential to your success but people that graduate usually look better on an application form than someone that hasn’t. With your diploma in hand, you’re ready to keep on trucking (I apologize for the terrible pun!).

2. A standard driver’s license isn’t quite good enough to get behind the wheel of a big 18-wheeler. To hit the road you’re going to need what’s called a CDL, or in layman’s terms, a Commercial Driver’s License. This allows you to drive vehicles over 25,000 pounds in weight safely. There are always plenty of programs from state to state that offer classes on the CDL exam. Most of the time though the exam simply consists of an 8 hour training course that teaches you the ins and the outs of bigger vehicles and how they operate differently on the road. A few laps around the practice course should be all you need to take the real test. The exam consists of a written portion and a driving portion. Once both are completed you’ll be commercially rated to drive large vehicles.

3. If you thought getting through all the exams in high school was hard, you haven’t seen anything yet. In addition to a CDL diploma, you’ll also need to pass the FMCSR, or Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations exam administered by the USDOT. This exam is very similar to the CDL exam in that it just covers road basics and if you managed to get a regular driver’s license, you should be good to take this test right away. After completion of the written you’ll move on to a final test that checks your physical readiness. If you are of sound mind and body, you’ll get the all clear.

Truck drivers are expected to have a clean driving record without many, if any, driving infractions since their first license. If you currently have or receive any DUIs while applying for or during your time as a trucker, you may stand to lose your license. Unsafe driving in a car is one thing. Unsafe driving in a vehicle that weighs upwards of ten tonnes is another. Safety is paramount so take all of the exams and classes seriously even if you’re just there to pass.

1. Enhance your social skills: A lot of the tim

e, training dogs requires just as much effort as it does training people. Dogs are just as responsive to stimuli as humans are and are just as capable of responding in a negative way if you treat them wrong. But a good rule of thumb is that if you’re good with people, you’ll be good with animals. The most important thing to remember when either dealing with your client or their dog is to constantly administer positive reinforcement. Lay down the law when things get out of hand so the dog knows who’s in charge but whenever you can show the dog or client that they’re on the right track, do it.

2. Knowledge is power: As with all jobs or careers, there’s almost always some type of schooling involved. There is no formal “dog-training degree” but that’s not to say you don’t need training. You can also try joining one of many national dog training organizations such as the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. These organizations will keep you in the loop about when and where seminars are as well as link you to crucial information regarding the field.

3. Practice Local: Before you make a bona fide (pun definitely intended) dog training business, see if your neighbors and friends will let you practice your skills on their pets. If you can master a wide variety of basic skills on your friends’ pets, you should be good to go in the real world.
